Yacht Club’s most recently released game, Shovel Knight: Pocket Dungeon, was released in 2021 across multiple platforms. The team announced its other upcoming title, Shovel Knight Dig, in 2019. Since then, the iconic shovel-wielding knight has gone on to inspire a series of spinoffs games and sequels, and even get cameos in games like Super Smash Bros. They released the Kickstarter at only 300k, obviously the game will get made. These aren't just cash grabs to have a tiny NPC only (unless that's what you want), you get to help design something that leads to major game content. Yacht Club released the indie darling Shovel Knight in 2014 after a successful crowdfunding campaign. Characters like Baz and Reize were made as part of the Director for a Day perk. The Kickstarter page says that the team plans create a game that runs in “smooth 60 action combat.” Like Shovel Knight, Mina features an 8-bit art style - the game’s visuals look a lot like a souped-up version of the Game Boy Color game The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening from 1993. In the game, you play as Mina, a mouse who fights her way through various dungeons using a whip and other items. Mina the Hollower Take control of Mina, a renowned Hollower hurtled into a desperate mission to rescue a cursed island. She travels to Tenebrous Isle, home of Baron Lionel, a wealthy lion who has been Mina's patron in installing her technology on the isle, leading to rapid development. A release date for Mina the Hollower has yet to be announced by Yacht Club Games. She wields a whip, Nightstar, as a weapon. You can check out the trailer fro the project below. The developers released a trailer alongside its Mina the Hollower reveal. Mina the Hollower is a Game Boy Color inspired game visually and it will run at a silky 60 frames per second. “We want your feedback, collaboration, and support in making Mina the Hollower the best game it can possibly be,” the developers said. The game is still early in development, Yacht Club said, and the studio is seeking funding through a Kickstarter campaign that’s live now. The studio’s next title will be an original adventure inspired by the Game Boy Color. As with Shovel Knight, the campaign is looking towards stretch. Yacht Club Games, the developer behind the Shovel Knight series, announced its next game at the Yacht Club Games Presents stream on Tuesday. At the time of this writing, Mina the Hollower has raised 978,000, well past its 311,503 goal with eight days left on the campaign.
